An abandoned pot

Synopsis
One day, the mother starts bringing home flower pots that have been abandoned by others.

Planning Intent
This project began as an effort to understand my mother’s actions. I watched her fill empty spaces in our home with discarded flower pots and treat withered plants as if they were still full of life. It made me realize how much she resembled the plants she cared for, and I wanted to capture that story.

Production Process
When telling stories about family, I focus on the mise-en-scène of home spaces. In this project, I wanted to express my mother’s evolving sense of loneliness through the condition of the plants. Experimenting with different levels of decay in the flower pots was a meaningful and enjoyable part of the creative process.
