Silent Season

Synopsis:
A high school security guard dies on campus due to excessive working hours, but the school refuses to recognize it as an industrial accident. So-young, a passionate student and PD of the school’s broadcasting club, begins collecting evidence by interviewing students about the incident. However, during her investigation, she encounters an unexpected event.

Planning Intent:
During my high school years, I was actively involved in the broadcasting club and often reflected on the role of students in school. While students are called the "owners" of the school, I questioned what real influence we had beyond studying. This project was created based on those thoughts and concerns.

Production Process:
In making this film, I initially focused too much on presenting a tightly woven incident within a short runtime, neglecting the overall emotional tone and pacing. As a result, the film lacked sequences that allow the audience to pause and absorb its atmosphere. Through this project, I learned the importance of considering the rhythm and flow of storytelling in filmmaking.
