Synopsis
This film tells the story of Kim Ji-eun, a North Korean defector and former doctor, detailing her experiences working as a physician in North Korea and the events that led her to make the life-altering decision to escape.

Planning Intent
Although North Korean defectors live among us in the same society, they carry past experiences that are difficult for many to imagine. By visualizing their stories through animation, this project aims to foster greater empathy and understanding of their struggles and wounds.

Production Process
I conducted and recorded an interview with Kim Ji-eun, capturing her firsthand account. Using the transcript, I then generated images and videos through the generative AI tool Runway, inputting prompts based on her narrative to create a visual representation of her journey.
